DAQ PCI cards - first generation
Introduction
During the years 2008 - 2009, the TEDIA DAQ PCI cards had been revised. The first generation cards had been intended only for conventional 5V PCI bus.
The second generation cards are intended for conventional 5V PCI bus (i.e. classic 32-bit bus) or 3.3V bus (usually 64-bit PCI bus) and PCI-X (high-performance variant of 64-bit PCI designed for servers). The newly revised cards are labelled as "C" and they can be used in all PCI slots (3.3V and/or 5V).
Below you can find the overview of the discontinued cards with suggestions for the second generation replacement types. You may also use new PCI Express cards.

PCT-7303A, PCT-7303B
Availability: discontinued, see replacement PCT-7303C.
Download: drivers
The PCT-7303A card is a powerfull programmable counters PCI card.
The card provides three 24-bit counters that allow unidirectional and bidirectional counting at several operating modes. The counters support standard quadrature signals (X1, X2 and X4 modes) with optional positive or negative reset signal. Except the modes mentioned here the counters also support the "up/down" mode (one signal serves for incrementation, the second for decrementation and the third for reset), the "count/dir" mode (one signal serves for the pulse counting, the second for selecting the count direction, and the third for reset) and the "count/gate" mode (one signal serves for the incrementation, the second for the counter blocking and the third for reset).
Every counter is fitted with two capture registers for reading; the first serves for the counter state reading "in running", the other for state capture via the external input. The capture registers can be configured freely, so the state capture can be individual for every counter, or together for all counters in same time.
The card provides two programmable comparators for every counter, allowing to set upper and lower threshold limit; comparators can call the PC interrupt or drive the special digital outputs directly (so-called "real-time" outputs).
The PCT-7303B card is modified type equipped with higher capacity FPGA possible to extend the functions by the detectors of the minimum and maximum values of counters, scanning the counter values into FIFO with a configurable frequency, etc.
Counter inputs are accessible via D-Sub 25, real-time digital outputs are accessible via D-Sub 9 connectors; both of them are placed on the card mounting bracket. The digital ports are accessible via the PCE-209 adaptor (not included), using the card mounting bracket with two D-Sub 9 connectors.
